Reporting to the Manager of Corporate Communications, the Creative Design and Digital Media Advisor is responsible for creating, developing, and producing effective visual communications material for the entire corporation of the Town of Lincoln. Materials produced maintain guidelines set out in the Town’s Visual Identity Standards and are used to promote the services, programs, and reputation of the Town of Lincoln, internally and externally. Additional responsibilities will include but not be limited to developing engaging video content and video editing as required.

This position requires creative talent and a certain amount of flexibility and adaptability as the creative work supports a wide variety of disciplines (i.e. public works, planning, fire services, community services, etc.) and reaches a wide variety of audiences (i.e. Council and staff, local residents and businesses, tourists, not-for-profit groups, etc.).

Requirements

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications and skills:

  • Diploma in Graphic Design from a recognized community college or post-secondary institution
  • Membership in the Association of Registered Graphic Designers of Ontario would be considered an asset
  • Advanced computer skills to produce unique and creative graphic materials
  • Five (5) or more years professional experience working in a diverse organization and/or independent creative services company
  • Experience in a municipality or regulatory environment would be considered an asset
  • Experience using graphic design software, especially Adobe Premier products and applications: Adobe In Design, Photoshop (or equivalent), Illustrator (or equivalent);
  • Knowledge of multi-media applications and transfer of graphic design products to web-based formats, video, film, etc.
  • Working knowledge of the Act for Ontarians with Disabilities (AODA) requirements, and particularly the customer service and information and communications standards
  • Excellent communication skills and advanced computer skills
  • Ability to consult with staff to determine their specific design needs and make recommendations that build on and enhance the team’s requirements
  • Ability to suggest appropriate creative approaches to support communications and promotional initiatives
  • Creative and artistic skills spanning a broad range of media including design (both computer-assisted and freehand), photography, layout and creative concepts
  • Time management skills and ability to manage competing priorities
  • Proven multi-tasking and organizational skills when working on several projects at the same time and meeting deadlines
  • Must be able to work with outside suppliers or vendors as required

Compensation

The Town of Lincoln offers an attractive, competitive salary, benefits and pension package, a progressive hybrid work environment, and career advancement opportunities. The salary for this position (based on a 35-hour work week) is between $69,110.86 – $80,851.68.
