Reporting to the Manager of Public and Open Spaces, the General Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for the overall facility management and maintenance including building maintenance, waste management, housekeeping, trail, and amenities maintenance. The General Maintenance Supervisor is also responsible for supervising staff and ensuring the execution of planned and assigned work, and staff development. The Supervisor keeps abreast of current and emerging industry trends and makes recommendations to upgrade or modify tools, equipment, fleet, and services based on staff needs and feedback. The Supervisor inspects work assignments and promotes training and job function. The Supervisor enacts health and safety policies and procedures for staff. In the absence of the Manager, the Supervisor will assume some duties and responsibilities to supervise the division during this time.
